Major North Sea resort beach, a direct train ride from Haarlem and Amsterdam (station Zandvoort aan Zee at the boulevard). Dozens of pavilions and full facilities in season. Lifeguard posts in the summer season — swim between the flags and mind rip currents. Dogs: off-season (1 Oct–15 Apr) off-leash all day on the whole beach; from 15 Apr to 1 Oct not allowed during the day (09:00–19:00), leashed early morning and after 19:00. Clean-up required. Monitored 1 May – 1 Oct.
